History

The present scout group was reformed in 1982 after closing in the 1930’s.

There have been changes in the group since it reformed, such as it now caters for 6-8 year olds, this section is called the Beaver section.

The group still has the traditional Cub Pack (8 – 10.5 year olds), Scout Troop (10.5 – 14 year olds).

In 1992 the Scout Association took a major step forward by opening all the age groups to mixed scouting and we have boys and girls in all our sections.
During these years we have established our permanent home in The Old Village Hall on the Bures Road.

We have sole use of the hall through a lease from Great Cornard Parish Council.
We are a friendly welcoming Scout Group and we cater for children of all abilities.
We also welcome adults who wish to be involved with a go ahead Scout Group catering for the children of the village.
