We follow the National Scout programme and do various activities that include kayaking, rafting, archery, air rifle shooting, hiking, climbing, backwoods cooking, swimming and many more.
Some of the Activity and Challenge badges undertaken are Hobbies, hiking, swimmers staged badges, nights away, survival skills, athletics, first aid. Challenge badges, Expedition, adventure, creative and these are just a small selection of badges that are available to complete.
New Scouts will be invested in 4 to 6 weeks once they have Full Scout uniform and have learnt the Scout Promise and Law and history of scouting (Scout Membership Badge).
We will supply a scarf (Maroon and White edged at a cost of £6 to the Parent/Guardian), woggle and badges at investiture, the investiture will take place at the end of the meeting – family members are welcome to attend.

Scouts uniform should be worn every meeting unless stated otherwise.
Subscriptions are made payable to 1st Great Cornard Scout Group, they are currently £40 a term per Scout.
Subscription money pays for membership to Gillwell Park (Association Headquarters), insurances, badges, buildings/grounds, general repairs and evening activity costs unless otherwise stated. It does not include District events.
